Nousbo has recently obtained a patent for its “Manufacturing Method for Controlled Release Fertilizers with Biodegradable Resin Coatings.” The technology is designed to gradually release nutrients over time while reducing the environmental impact of conventional coating materials. By using a naturally degradable coating, the technology helps minimize soil residue, improve fertilizer efficiency, and support growing demand for environmentally friendly agricultural solutions.
With its expertise in Controlled Release Fertilizers (CRF), Nousbo has continued to expand its presence in both domestic and global markets. The company plans to further strengthen its eco-friendly product portfolio through biodegradable coating technology and meet the growing demand for sustainable agricultural solutions worldwide.
According to Nousbo’s research project manager, fertilizers with biodegradable coatings are more than just environmentally friendly products — they represent an important technology that can improve both agricultural productivity and sustainability. The additional patent applications are focused on improving cost efficiency and crop performance, with plans to expand the technology into products optimized for different crops and growing environments.
As environmental regulations become stricter and demand for lower-carbon agricultural solutions continues to grow, the market for fertilizers using biodegradable materials is expected to expand rapidly. To meet this growing demand, Nousbo plans to continue investing in research and patent development while strengthening its position as a provider of sustainable agricultural solutions. In August 2025, Nousbo’s “Hi-COTE” was officially designated as a certified “Premium Fertilizer” by the Korean government.
